Thank you for your supportive comments. Since writing the original blog, I have learned that South Africa also has laws governing the display of its national flag (ref. the Government Gazette 22356, Notice 510 of 8 June 2001), as well as Australia (the Australian Flags Act of 1953). Kind regards. John Robertson

The rules don't apply if you live in Asia, Asians have no sense of jumping the queue and do it all the time. I live in Thailand and speak it fluently. I typed in jumping the queue or manners for standing in line and came up with nothing.

Okay...peas at a barbeque? You British heathens you. Yes perhaps barbeques in Britain should be banned if you are serving peas. I'm still trying to figure out how you barbeque them, don't they fall through the grill? I hate having to stand up or balance on my lap but have discovered this great invention. The picnic table (with napkins, cutlery, plates and tablecloth of course).

This is a great look at how a barbecue should be, and told with the humor of one who has suffered through apparently dreadful ones. If anyone should venture across the pond however, beer is often drunk in the bottle by some who claim it tastes better that way; not dissimilar to food tasting better when eaten with silver cutlery, corn eaten off the cob, meat chewed right off the ribs, etc. Over here there are all sorts of regional specialties also and most are enjoyed sitting down. I agree that a stand up food party is no fun at all! Entertaining writing as usual - thank you.
