Personally, I would no more invite someone to a party via facebook than fly to the moon; however, I do find that the offending ‘maybe attending’ does serve a purpose (imagining a reach for the vapors). We have quite a number of live entertainment offerings here in St. Andrews (Canada, not Scotland). Facebook ‘invitations’, which are really simply announcements, serve to alert the ‘friends’ that said event will occur. In this singular case, ‘maybe attending’ is an acceptable response and does in fact give the hosting venue a rough idea of potential attendance. On balance though, William is in the majority on this weak Facebook feature, I do hope!
